Passing of Life Member Bill Baker
It is with great sadness that we, the officers and members of the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Department announce the recent passing of life member Bill Baker. Bill was a member of the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Department for 47 years, during this time Bill held various positions within the department. Most notably, Bill was a highly experienced Engineer with the department for many years, during which his steadfast calmness behind the wheel of various apparatus was a welcomed site for the officers and members that rode with him. Bill was most notable for his quiet, calm manner which was accompanied by his soft spoken leadership that many benefited from within the Department. He had an infectious laugh that would lighten the darkest of hearts. Bill was a constant at the fire department during fundraiser events, alarms, and meetings. Willing doing his part to make the department and community a little bit better. Bill was often a member that his peers sought for input and advise, many of those members are thankful for his time and input. Bill’s presence has been and will continue to be dearly missed within the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Department.
